Hi
I like many other here have tried many things to help with anxiety. I stopped drinking alcohol, coffee, tea, i don't eat nightshades(potatoes, peppers, tomatoes), any dairy products, red meat, breads pastas or sugar!
I basically live on veg, fruit rice and fish now!!!
I can't say that it's stopped my panic attacks, but I am more able to cope and not agoraphobic as much anymore.
And heck if it's only made a tiny change it's worth it (plus the weight loss is good)
I know a few naturapaths, and the one you saw was clearly a
rip-off artist. When I worked as a clinic admin for a midwifery
clinic, many of our clients were naturapaths. They had
sliding fee scales for clients with lower incomes. Also, most
of their "remedys" are diet and lifestyle changes--hence the
nature in naturopaths.
Was you naturopath college certified? they are here in
Canada, but I know pretty much anyone can call themselves
a naturopath, midwife, or chiropractor in the states. Here
things are a bit more regulated.
Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. As for the
mercury exposure, I remember my brother and i when we
were like 6 and 11 playing with little balls of mercury we got
out of old thermostats...my brother's fine, anyhow.

I went to a natural path once, he told me because of the shots i got as a child i have mecury poising thats why i have anxiety disorders and depression. I was later on told by a family member that worked as the dortors intern that he told everyone the same thing. So i stopped going there plus they wanted me to shell out 600+ in supplements. :gasp: I am a single mom so cannot afford something to that extreme at all.
Has anyone here tried a naturapath for their panic? I have a
girlfriend who suffered severe clinical depression and was
on Paxil for over seven years. She was still having trouble
though, and saw a naturapath. she was on some kind of
elimination diet where she kept a diary of her mood as
different foods were added to her diet.
She's been off all meds for three ears now feels and looks
great. She can't eat wheat and only small quantity's of sugar,
but otherwise eats pretty normally.
I'm wondering if there might be hope in this more natural
approach for anxiety. Has anyone ever tried it? Know of any
research?
