Wendi - Congrats on your quit! One of the reasons most of us quit is to be healthier - just put the focus that got you this far on your quit to getting healthier overall. I have lost weight on this quit by focusing on being active to help the cravings. A little walk here and a little less food there makes all the difference! Congrats again and don't worry - 25 pounds will be off in a flash! Wendi, Welcome here and congratulations on your quit! We have lots of new quitters here who need advice. I find that helping them reinforces my quit! Just a thought for you.. Wendib, Congratulations on making it to almost one year. I hope you have a good reward set up for next Tuesday. The magic trick to maintain weight is to have calories IN (food/drinks consumed) equal calories OUT (Basel Metabolic Rate (BMR) and exercise). To lose weight, we need to have a calorie deficiency (so more calories OUT than IN). Have your eating habits changed since you quit smoking? If you watch what you are eating and drinking and continue to work out you should start to see some weight loss. It is healthy to lose about 1 or 2 pounds a week so don't limit your calories too much. If you are exercising and eating sensibly then you may want to go see your doctor about possible solutions. I have been on my quit for almost a year now. My husband and I quit together. I WORKED this time. BUT.......One year and 25 lbs. later, I feel horrible about the way I look. We walk all the time and I excersice 3-4 times a week. Am I doing something wrong or will some of this sort of go away the longer I am on my quit? Any ideas out there? Thanks My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 360 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,000 Amount Saved: $2,250.00 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 12 Mins: 25 Seconds: 25
