Tomorrow
"Tomorrow", my last word to you,
"Righto", you said to me,
I smiled and walked away that night,
Not knowing what would be.
Tomorrow never comes they say,
I wish it had been never,
Despite tomorrow coming,
You'll live with me for ever.
Our tomorrow's been and gone,
With sadness some might say,
Our tomorrow will come once more,
We'll meet again that day.
With each passing hour
I move closer to you.
There is no sorrow,
Just tomorrow.
Having suffered with emphysema, Dad passed away in the early hours of 29th July 1997 in a hospital bed, alone. I wrote this poem later that day.

. I really love how you guys are able to express yourselves in a meaningful way - effortlessly in what seems like 'one word or less'! I hope you found most of the Unsmokables to share your quit date with after all! I'm new here in January - have read many posts. These words have kept me (somewhat) sane through my CT quit. Thank you. Eya
