Good for you Hamlet for not giving in to the desire..It will get easier with time and each time you say no to a temptation the next time it is not a tempting..You are stronger now than you were yesterday because you said no and you will get stronger every day..
 
Here's a little tip that helped me..
 
Remember to take the time to get yourself a little reward. Just a little something for a job well done..Positive reinforcement has worked wonders for me and my quit..

You have come a long way. I'm glad you weren't able to have that cigarette.
 
One of the things I've learned from reading here and in the ebook Freedom From Nicotine is that I can't have just one. Although no longer actively addicted, I will always be an addict. What this means is that I'm one cigarette away from a full relapse. Although my mind may just want one to go with that beer, that car ride, that concert, or whatever, my body and brain chemistry will never be satisfied with one. It will demand 20, every day, as long as nicotine is in my system. 
 
I don't like this fact about cigarette addiction, but it seems to be true. Check out my thread about relapses to see how quickly people go from "one puff" or "one cigarette" to being right back in the full blown habit. Then you're stuck with being hooked again or having to face withdrawal/ starting your quit all over. 
 
Hang tough. Those old triggers will fade more and more as you get further and further away from that last smoke.

      You're closing in on 100 days as a non smoker!  Keep hanging tough and do NOT allow anything to interfere with you attaining your freedom!  Sure, your wife may grant you the approval to smoke again, but what is she actually thinking???   Think about that for a while...
     The bottom line is that you do want your freedom, right?   One day at a time and live by N.O.P.E.  You are a non smoker now!

Hi guys still not smoking , think I know why I had craving 2 weeks ago. Had thoughts about smoking while at concert and was prompting my wife saying would love a smoke, basically looking for her approval to resume smoking. Got approval could not find store open to buy them this happened last year after 2 weeks not smoking, know it is me that have to say no. Glad now as no serious thoughts about smoking. Fleeting thoughts just, love to log in and look at my stats , really great to see building up. I know I have to just stay strong and not smoke . Not smoking today one day at a time. Thanks everyone
