Good job Jan! Last quit I lost weight and exercised like a fiend. So far I haven't hit that point, but I am forcing it anyway. It feels so good to be able to work out and not be out of breath. The most stupid thing I did when I exercised as a smoker --- work out for 2 hours with a trainer, get in the car and light up! Duh!
Keep us posted on your progress!

I love that thought...reinventing ourselves when we quit. Its a process I'm definitely looking forward.
Exercise really does help beat those "blue" moods associated with the quit.
Hope my reinvention is a good one!!!!
Cheers, Jan :)

Good for you Jan! Moving has been a Godsend during this quit...It helped me lose the extra weight that I gained, it gave me something to do that DID NOT remind me of smoking, it lifted my spirits when I got depressed or anxious and I've met a new bunch of non-smoking buds.
I'm a "social" runner now (I don't really like running but I like the gab sessions in the morning and the potlucks, brunches after our running sessions)....It's amazing how we reinvent ourselves after we quit...

You move girl LOL Jan you will be surprised at how much exercise helps with a quit. I know on the day I don't walk or go work out I am just plain blah, blah, blah. So you get into that water and jump your way to a smoke free life.
Keep the Quit

Yesterday I enrolled both my husband and myself in an exercise/swimming class. Hubby has VERY bad arthritis in his knees and the specialist thought this might really help him.
I figured it would help me too! Doesn't start til mid September. I'm glad I signed up, it forces my hand to get moving!
Cheers, Jan :)
