Absolutely Bobbi, lots of rest/sleep is essential. And as
Danielle suggested, if the symptoms persists see your doctor.
Even when I KNEW I would never fall asleep, I layed down and just
closed my eyes and brought up positive thoughts/good memories to
take me away from what I was feeling.
Wishing you well.. you are doing great !

Hi Bobbi,
It is suppose to get easier as time passes yes but your brain will still have an adjustment period. Remember, nicotine whether it was coming from a cigarette or the patch, triggered the release of neurotransmitters which are responsible for good mood. Now that you're nicotine free, you're mood will take a nosedive.
We would advise you that if this symptom persists for more than a few weeks or is getting progressively worse, to consult your doctor for further assistance.
Until then, be sure to get plenty of sleep, exercise and reward yourself often. All of these play a role in your mood.
Keep persevering!

Bobbi,
Although it's not uncommon, especially if you are using an NRT, if symptoms continue to persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Hey everybody!
Would it be normal if I still feel like Sam at 4 mo.? because I sure do, and is driving me crazy also!
hugs and prayers,
Bobbi

Aloha suggested that I post this piece that I posted on another thread
today called "Climbed out of the wreck!".. so here it is.. my update-
[b]It all started around noon yesterday -- The low, blue like feelings
lifted and I began to feel so much better
I took full advantage of feeling better inspite of the fracture on
the top of my foot and went out to do a little shopping, got home
made some decaf coffee and simply relaxed with a good book !
No tears, no sadness and today I woke up feeling very well rested
and back in the game with a much clearer mind. *phew* It was a
tough 3 days, quite admittedly the longest 3 days I've had in a very
long time - BUT now they are in the past and I'm washing my hands of
them and moving forward once again.
IF this should ever happen to me again I won't be so afraid of it and
allow myself to simply go with the moment(s) and give myself
permission to FEEL.
Thanks to everyone who supported and advised me during that very
rough patch
Sam

Hi Sam,
Glad you are doing better. Remember, distractions aren't a bad thing. The less you think about smoking the better. Keep us posted, best wishes and hugs.

Aloha,, I went to that thread you recommended and it did take a long
time to get through but there was some very funny things there :)
Thanks.. a good laugh is healthy !
Yes Bear I did just that yesterday, not meditation but a lot of
deep breathing and I think it's paying off this morning.
Danielle I spoke with my pharmacist on the phone and he said that
if taking the recommended dosage of the ginseng, it shouldn't
interact with any of the med's I'm currently taking.. thanks for the
advice :) AND you are absolutely right ! I have come off of the
cigarettes I'll be able to come off the patches .. plus I'm so early
in my quit I can't think about coming off the patches,, I have to
chill out my mind and think about the positives !
Yes Kevin I know that there are so many other's who have been going
through exactly what I'm feeling. The ginseng takes up to 2-4 weeks
to kick in and with the research I've done on it I hope it's effects
will be helpful :)
I came to a realization - with my very insightful email friend -
All of last week I was helping my sister get through a very rough
patch and putting all of my feelings/emotions on the back burner.
Now that she has gone back home and back to work all of these feelings
are coming to the forefront and now it is time to DEAL ! I'm figuring
that they were pushed so far down and then they resurfaced after
she left. I am feeling less teary this morning and that's a good
thing.
In my head I know all of these things that I'm experiencing are
completely normal and I just have to go with the flow. Things will
eventually level out and I just need to follow my own advice and take
it all one moment, one day at a time. And if I feel like crying etc.
I should just allow it all to happen and then move on .. Now I feel
that I'm more prepared for all of this.. It was just a scary thing.
Thanks again for all of your support :)

Keep hanging in there, you're doing great. Theres quite a few of us going through the same state at the moment and quite a few have been here before and managed to get through it. Best wishes.
