Freedom of choice...
I could choose to go back to being a smoker, a life filled of a constant desire to light up. Smelly breath, smelly hair and clothes, gray skin, yellow teeth, yellow fingers, receding gums, cough, premature wrinkles, athsma etc etc.... but why in the heck would I?
Dont romantisize about your smoking, there was nothing special about it the sickarette is not your friend. Take a stand, take control of your life make that choice. As each and every day passes it gets easier and easier.
Keep smiling

Stickin to It,
That's absolutely right! I keep having this fear that something Mammoth could take over and make me lose my quit. But of course - it's up to me and only me!!!
If I don't want to smoke - I wont. Simple as that!!

Katy
May I congratulate you on nearly five full years of quit! I thank you for for replying and affirming that we can must never, ever, ever light up again. Once quit, always quit. Thank you Katy for your contributions.
I am amazed at the number of people who have quit for many, many months or years and somehow get caught up smoking again. Dont do this. Once you quit, you are quit and that is a final. You can not allow yourself to be caught up in an exceptional moment and think that having a smoke will somehow fill a void. Your assumption that, for the moment, I think it may help me, but how about the way you may feel tomorrow, about the choice.
If blessed with the quit, continue with it, and be grateful that you have it. Help others to arrive at your destination and conclusion that, not to light up can be a conscious choice, not just an overwhelming habit.

Thank you Gandma, Healer, Nanu, and Casey for helping make the point that you don't going playing around with fire. When you painstakingly have gone through and established a quit, keep it all costs.
